Blackboard and its features are compatible with most desktop and mobile browsers. However, functionality can vary between different operating system versions or different devices.
If Blackboard is going to be used on a mobile device, user experience may be best when students and faculty use the Blackboard app which is available for both Apple and Android devices through their respective app stores. Instructors can also use Blackboard Instructor app (Android and IOS) which provides some additional administrative functionality.
As a note, each app is not intended to fully replace a desktop/laptop web browser but it can be used for many common Blackboard functions such as reading course materials, responding to discussions and seeing notifications for upcoming deadlines or newly available content.

Once Blackboard has been installed on your mobile device, launch Blackboard which will begin the initial setup process. You will be asked to “Type your school’s name.”
Once you begin typing the school name, a list will begin to form. On the list you will see a school named Metropolitan Community College which is not our institution. Scroll up to reveal Metropolitan Community College – Nebraska and tap this school name to select it. Then, you will see fields to fill out your Blackboard Username and Password to complete the sign-in process.
