3D-Printed Working Transmission Shows Off IDS’ Skills and Services

Instructional Design Services’ David Burget recently presented his work with 3D printing to MCC’s board of governors.

As a “proof of concept,” David created a working model of an automotive transmission using open-source 3D printing resources and with some help from MCC’s FabLab. This solution used emerging technology to create a hands-on learning resource for automotive classes that is portable, functional (like a car, it really shifts!), safe to use and cost-effective.
